Overview of changes

Age banding

Age banding has aligned with BC Rugby and Rugby Canada:

U15 – Birth years 2010, 2011

U17 – Birth years 2008, 2009

U19 – Birth years 2007, 2006

Introduction of PRL

Tide vs Tsunami Series

Joining of Tide and Tsunami to form the Junior Crimson Tide.

BC Bears Pathway

Identification primarily through PRL and PRC’s.



📢 BC U19 Men's Rugby Skills Sessions Announced! 🏉

BC Rugby and the BC Bears U19 Men’s team are excited to offer regional skills development sessions ahead of the upcoming representative rugby season. These non-selection, skill-focused sessions are open to all U19 BC Rugby-registered players looking to improve their fundamentals under the guidance of BC U19 Assistant Coach Logan Martin-Feek and regional provincial coaches.

No experience needed! If you’re eager to grow as a rugby player and sharpen your skills, this is a great opportunity.

Who Can Attend?

Any U19-eligible rugby players currently registered with BC Rugby
Players of all experience levels welcome

What to Expect

Fundamental skill-building sessions
Coaching from provincial-level coaches
No pressure—these are not tryouts or ID sessions

How to Register

Players must be registered with BC Rugby. If you are not yet registered, you can do so here: BC Rugby Registration

Skills Session Schedule

South Island Sessions (Victoria)

Location: UVic, Field 8 (Old Velox)

March 5 – 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM
March 19 – 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM
April 2 – 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM

North Island Sessions (Nanaimo)

Location: Nanaimo RFC (TBC)

March 23 – 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
April 6 – 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
